Zeeuw Erwin Mesu wins in Gaasterland

Erwin Mesu has Wednesday Skeeler Tour of Gaasterland won in the sprint by his fellow pigeon Durk Fabriek to sprint off. Durk Fabriek (DHW - Powerplay Powerslide) took the sprint at three hundred meters for the measurement in but could not prevent the faster Erwin Mesu (Habovo) in the last fifty meters passed.

On the heavy track was from the first round of battle. Immediately from the start Rob Hadders opened the attack, it was an impossible task. The result was that the price was right and open after a series of attempts and there was a breakaway of 13 riders with a couple of contenders and it seemed the battle. But that was apparent, as the peloton came from a second group and despite the great effort it took, finally managed to realize the connection. It had a few riders pay for the huge effort and fell back to the peloton.

Erwin Mesu, winnaar van de Ronde van Gaasterland 2011

Eventually there was a decisive breakaway of eleven riders. Besides the already mentioned Mesu and Fabriek were also Jouke Hoogeveen, Christijn Groeneveld, Jan van Loon, Willem Hut, Karlo Timmerman, Rick Smit, Gary Hekman, Gerwin Smit and Frank Fiers from the front. For Fabriek and Mesu it was not enough and 10 km from the finish they went on an adventure. The hole was quickly 30 seconds and no one was more aware that this bridge was. Partly due to the comments of Jannes Mulder from the motorcycle could anyone share the experience that Christijn Groeneveld (de Veste-Powerslide) in the last two rounds meter for meter approached and 500 meters before the finish managed to join the leaders Mesu and Fabriek. For him it was too late, the jump was too much power and cost, and remaining only a creditable third place. Jouke Hoogeveen soloist in the closing stages to fourth and Gary Hekman won the sprint of the rest.

In the Ladies final sprint was won by Australia's Brooke Lochland before the Belgian Hilde Goovaerts and Anniek ter Haar from Emmeloord. The Masters had to again bow to the supremacy of Dutch champion Frans van Winden. He also knocked in the sprint pigeon Stefan Credit. Bauke Thijsseling did not wait for the final sprint of the peloton, but came solo in the third place.
